Reader reaction: Protect the child, not the organization

This letter is a response to What to disclose when an abused child nearly dies:

No child welfare worker wants to be responsible for the injury, disability or death of a child in a case assigned to them. I agree that information about mistakes and oversights could improve the practice of protecting children. (Medical privacy law) is meant to protect the client/child, not the organization.
