California closes parking lots at beaches and parks to stem spread of coronavirus

Gov. Gavin Newsom contradicted President Donald Trump’s claim that restrictions will end shortly, adding that parking lots in state parks will close to deter a repeat of last weekend’s too-close-for-comfort crowds.
