Jennifer Burger is the editor of the College Journalism Network, a collaboration between CalMatters and student journalists throughout the state to produce quality coverage of higher education. Previously, Burger spent 10 years mentoring young journalists as an instructor and adviser to student media at California State University, Bakersfield, where she received the Outstanding Lecturer award. Before serving in higher education, Burger worked as a reporter and editor for The Bakersfield Californian and ANG Newspapers (now Bay Area News Group) in the East San Francisco Bay Area. She has a Bachelor of Journalism from CSU Sacramento and a Master of Journalism from UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism.
