Desmond Meagley

Desmond Meagley is a staff writer, editor, and photographer for The Citizen, the Peralta Community College District's acclaimed student-run news publication. Desmond is currently in the final year of completing both an A.A.T. in Journalism and an A.A. in Social Sciences at Laney College in Oakland, California. A YR Media alumnus, Desmond’s award-winning work on gender, homelessness, and public health has been featured by NPR, Teen Vogue, KCBS, and more. Desmond is also a proud member of the National Gay and Lesbian Journalists Association.
