Given that many cases of COVID-19 are found in nursing homes, why isn’t testing a priority in these facilities.

I’m in disbelief why nursing homes are not given priority with testing, given that we know where most cases of COVID-19 are coming from.

We went two months on lockdown without any cases at my dad’s nursing home. We learned recently he tested positive for the coronavirus. Only after my dad’s positive test will mass testing at his facility finally take place.

We failed our nursing homes. There is a danger of picking it up at one nursing home and passing it onto another because staff tend to work at multiple homes to make ends meet.

I hope going forward this will change.
